Best Birthday Ever.

This is Exactly how I felt over the weekend as my family surprised me with a trip to Arizona and tickets to a Lady Gaga concert! The show was amazing and the weekend getaway with my family was exactly what I needed. The spontaneity of everything was so exhilarating, that for 48 hours straight, I felt like this ⇓ guy.

Inspired

When the world destructs its beauty with its own natural disasters, like the earthquake in Japan and Pacific tsunami, we as humans often forget to appreciate how beautiful the world is. Perhaps this was the Earth's way of saying no to the life of hatred and ill will between the nations of the world . This week, because of the dreary rain in Savannah, we have taken inspiration from Japan and it's ability to stay beautiful during these trying times.

It's never too late to help. You can make a donation for quake/tsunami relief here, or by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give ten dollars.

Purple Royalty

Although it is officially spring, the weather here has been insane. One day it is sunny, perfect for a sheer top and a bathing suit; the next day hailing and raining until you want to bundle up in a sweater. Regardless of the weather, we have found purple to be an inspiring color that makes you feel cool when you're hot, or snuggly when you're chilly. Purple is a color of royalty, passion, or, in the world of toddlers and Barney, friendship. So, in order to celebrate the ever-changing weather and this amazing color, we picked a few pieces that we truly love.

You are my sunshine!

As of late, spring has been taking full effect here in the South. So, in order to embrace the fiery love of the sun, we are putting away all of our dark wintery clothes and slipping into lighter, brighter pieces. Here are a few things we are loving right now.

By Mina Georgescu

These are so cute, and the linen fabric with breathe wonderfully.

She looks fierce and colorful in her fiery ensemble.

Simple, but when paired with colorful bangles... adorable!

Happy Birthday Anna!

Happy Birthday Anna, enjoy every moment of your special day! Today you are another year older, you are another year wiser, and you've got so many beautiful years of your life ahead of you. Someone once said, "A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun. Enjoy the trip." I hope only the best for you on your next journey. Have a wonderful birthday (eat lots of cake for me)!

What a natural

Who cares? It's cute!
Cute, comfy, and way affordable; denim is our new craze!

Trying to look cute everyday is overrated. On those days when 'fairy princess' doesn't come to mind as you stand in front of your wardrobe, let your hair be natural and try a denim shirt. Add a touch of lipgloss, and people will admire you're natural beauty.

A cheap denim shirt can be found at Target stores for under $20.

What Women Need is a Dream

"I realized that fashion is not about second skin. It's not the perfect white shirt or camel jacket. What women need is a dream." -Alber Elbaz

These women have taken the Elbaz route, meaning that in the midst of all the trends, the must haves, and the classic pieces they have found their home in the fashion world. They've reached the "dream" by having fun while playing dress up and taking chances with the clothes they wear.

Boredom

I read this quote the other day and it inspired me to live more exuberantly than ever before; therefore, I am packing up my boredom and his wife laziness plus their kids loneliness and pity, and putting them in a coffin, hopefully never to see again. Why spend time being bored when I could be belting out my favorite songs or writing a poem or making cookies? Why has this quote not come to me sooner? I guess you could call this my new life-motto.

Astrology

Maybe horoscopes are just superstition, maybe they're magic, maybe they're the best thing ever! Either way, we always know what is in our stars (well, according to Marie Claire magazine).

So Long to the Big City

Today we depart from the city, wishing we had another week (and another load of money) to spend in Atlanta. The past few days, the city has been a wonderland for us and we would just like to say thank you to all the people who made our trip memorable, that is the animals at the zoo -- esp. giraffes --, friends who we don't see enough, our families, and Alice and Lucy -- two guinea pigs who left pee on Molly. But while we are sad to depart, we will gladly take some inspiration from the city with us. Au revoir!

Dining Alfresco

The weather here has been amazing (despite a few rainy days) and we've been eating outside every chance we get. This little balcony makes for the perfect dining spot. Who needs restaurants when you have this private, well-lit terrace all to yourself? We'll miss sitting out there enjoying the fresh air and every little moment of our time off.

Only one day left to enjoy it all!

Far Far Away

We want to stack our trendy suitcases on top of each other.
Although we are having an incredible journeying through all the corners of the city, Molly and I are still dreaming of places far far away. Living in the city for the past week has been so incredible, but we don't want the vacation to end. Right now we are envisioning all the places we would like to go; cities where we can sightsee, shop, eat, learn about, and paint red. The list is long, and the actuality may be far away, but we are like two little explorers who just can't wait to see the world.

If only we LIVED here...
Urban Outfitters has the perfect map for $34. What's special about it? You can scratch off the places you have been to! WOW!

Surprisingly Springy

Golds, blues, oranges... are we sensing a theme?
Today was another perfect shopping day. After spending countless hours roaming around Dillard's, Anna and I moseyed on over to H&M (believe it or not it was my first time going there). After looking around at all the clothes, I was surprisingly disappointed. Right before I gave up all hope, I thought I'd take a peek at the accessories. My disappointment took a turn for the better as I found inspiration in all the springy blues and oranges.
I now have pearls in every color I could ever want (credit goes to Anna for finding them).
It all started with these two bracelets. I love the colors and all the little details.
I was hesitant to buy these, but for 3 dollars, why not? They're kinda perfect.

bracelets for $3.95 each
bobby pins for $2.95

Another Excuse to Shop

Most everything we got in a big ole pile.
The weather in Atlanta is incredibly bi-polar. One day hot, the next day chilly and wet. But we don't let a little rain ruin our spring break! Of course our first thought was -what better way to spend a cold, wet day than shopping-?! So we headed to one of the fabulous malls in the city and scavenged for pretty yet reasonably priced stuff with only a little success. After a late lunch we both felt a second wind and found some super adorable must-haves.

Love the glamourous buttons on this nautical cardigan.
Sparkly earrings that were surprisingly cheap.
Forever 21 had some great springy pieces, we just couldn't get enough.
Items in order from left to right:
Steve Madden gladiators $70
Sweet Olive Blossom Candle from Anthropologie $16
Glass perfume bottle from Anthropologie $15
Stripey shirt from Forever21 $11.80
Baseball Tee from Forever21 $5.90
Nautical cardigan from Forever21 $17.80
Braided brown belt from Nordstrom $10

Other fabulous finds:
Sparkly earrings from Nordstrom $12
Jean shorts from Forever21 $10.50
Basic black skirt from Forever21 $6.80

Urban Jungle

No worries, none of the parakeets pooped on us.
So far we've been in Atlanta for about a day and a half, but it's been so nice to not even care about the time and schedules and due dates. We've been free to relax and enjoy ourselves. Anna even took off her beloved watch so she could freely lose track of time. I love being with Anna and her family because everything is so spur of the moment. Today though, we planned a trip to the zoo and I was in charge. With map in hand, I boldly led us through the city's very own jungle.

White with black stripes or black with white stripes?
We caught the king just in time- waking up from a cat nap.
The red panda- taking a little snooze too.
We only saw this guy for a few seconds, but he was one of my favorites.
