Paper Crown

I think it's fair to say that I'm in love with this new line. Each piece is romantic, chic, and a definite staple for anyone's wardrobe [love, love, and love]. And I even love the description of it, "a collection for those who like to play dress up in a grown up world." Sigh, doesn't that alone just make you want to buy every piece? I had to limit myself to only put 3 pictures up, so be sure to check out the rest of the looks here.

modern "mod"

Well I haven't been in town for the last ten days, but it looks like Molly has done a truly terrific job posting. Cheers to Molly!

Now to my first post in probably two weeks...

If you do not already know, we love Blake Lively (seen here). And our prediction that "she will blossom more in 2011" as a fashion icon is (drum roll please...) correct. While walking through a super busy airport, something beautiful caught my eye. Sure enough, it was this month's edition of Glamour Magazine, which featured the ever-stunning Blake Lively. I immediately bought it.

Her mod vibe seemed flawless from head to toe (to cute little puppy).

So a new wave of inspiration has flooded over me... 60's mod/glamour. What do you think?

Picture Perfect

On Wednesday I made a list of all the things that were making me really happy. I figured today it would be fun to add pictures to words, you know, just because.

The fact that it is officially summer.

The invention of sporks.

Pictures of Paris.

Really sappy quotes that I still fall in love with.

Guys named Bill.

Enjoy! And let us know what makes you happy.

Turn That Frown Upside Down

A few weeks ago my boredom and inability to go to sleep at a normal hour led me to one of the happiest and brightest blogs I've ever seen. Katie Sokoler, the master of paper and street art, is the writer of this joyful blog called Color Me Katie. She basically shares really happy things that she makes and sees in her life. What I love most is her fun and colorful pictures that serve as an instant pick-me-up to any bad day. I dare you not to check it out.

Here's to Happiness

I've decided that the next few days will be dedicated to all things happy and bright and joyous. As you may have read in Monday's post, the past week or so hasn't been the best. For now that stuff is behind me, and to keep it there I've made a list of things that are currently making me happy:

-The fact that I don't have work for the next two days.
-Strangers with accents that call you 'love.'
-Chocolate. Ghiradelli milk & caramel, to be exact.
-My big hound dog who greets me when I get home at night.
-Loving neighbors who trust you to drive their cars.
-The fact that it is officially summer.
-When really good songs get stuck on replay in your head.
-Get rich quick schemes. Although they never work.
-Absurdly bright and cliche pajama pants.
-People who are completely content with who they are.
-The invention of text messaging.
-The invention of sporks.
-Pictures of Paris.
-Musicals.
-Babies.
-A photo of me and my brother when we were youngins.
-Really sappy quotes that I still fall in love with.
-Footprints on the wall from where I prop up my feet.
-Guys named Bill.
-People with mullets.
-Hair that always seems to be knotty.
-Really big TV remotes and shiny red staplers.
-Really bad impressions.
-Air conditioning.
-Lists.
-You, if you're still reading this.

I think I'll stop now. It's time to curl up in bed and watch Fame. But tell me, what's making you happy right now?

C'est La Vie

Feeling rather uninspired today... actually rather exhausted. Again, apologies for the lack of posts in the past few days, Anna is on vacation and I've been dealing with crazy drama, so it's been a rough few days! A huge storm hit on Saturday night and a tree fell over in my backyard, taking out a chunk of my house. Oh, and a tree branch smashed the windshield of my car. I don't mean to complain-because things could be way worse-but it's just been a rough week. That's all I can really say. I think it's time for a nap!

Crop Tops: No or Go?

I'm kind of falling for the crop top trend. Although I'd have to do about a million crunches before I could wear one myself... I think it's a fun and tasteful way to show a little skin when done right. I've seen a lot of looks where crop tops are worn with high waisted skirts or shorts, but for the summer months they're now being paired with a completely exposed midriff. So what do you all think? Should they only be worn with high waist pieces? Are you loving this trend or should midriff's be kept covered?

It's Days Like These

These photos are from a day a while back, a day that I really loved. I remember being totally and completely carefree. I wasn't worrying about being on time to work or how much money was in my bank account or what I looked like that day. I was able to laugh with some of my closest friends, play with the camera on my awesome new phone, and take a nap in a cozy gazebo. It's days like these that remind me how important it is to stop worrying- to sit back, relax and enjoy my day.

All hands on Deck

Right now we are in love with anything nautical. We live by the sea so it would only make sense that we have a true love for the water and what it represents. Captain Jack Sparrow agrees with us, "My first and only love is the sea." Of course we do love more than the sea, but who would we be without Tybee Island, or the Bull River? Without the sand, the sun, and the water we would probably go stir crazy in this little big  town of Savannah. So cheers to all of the beaches around the world! {Clink}

The lighthouse on Tybee Island.
This is an old picture that always reminds me of the good days on the river.
A good view can be overlooked, but cannot ever be over-seen.

C'est La Vie

We talk about the little things in life all the time heck, we did it yesterday. But what about those really big moments? You know, the ones that you remember forever, the ones that make your heart flutter or shed a tear. We've been thinking a lot about those moments lately-- a first real job, a move across country, a first day of college, or a dream wedding...

So tell us, what's been that big moment for you?

♥ the little things

Sorry we've been a little absent the last few days, but we've been soaking up the summer air. This past week has been relaxing and calm; the epitome of summertime. We spent all day at the beach yesterday and with sandy feet and sun-kissed cheeks, we can say it was simply amazing. We hope you all take some time today to enjoy all the little things that makes summer so great.

Savannah beaches aren't always the prettiest, but they have their moments.
I've been eating crappy pizza for so long, I forgot how good it could be.
We've been watching movies nonstop, but this would be so cool for a movie night!
We had a similar incident with ice cream this afternoon...
This gorgeous flower arrangement has given a little summer sweetness to my house.

Black Tie Affair

The other night we had delicious pesto pasta using some funky black and white bowties. They were so precious. In the end we felt underdressed compared to our food. What can we say, we were not fit for a black tie affair.

The recipe is easy enough: Boil pasta for eight minutes. Mix in some peas for color. Add some pesto. We are not chefs, but this sure was delicious.

Beachy Keen

Yesterday we went to the beach. It was a relaxing way to spend a few hours before work. The sun was warm and the water was cool. Sadly, we only got smothered by one huge wave. Needless to say, we are definitely going to hit the waves (yeah right!) as many times as we can this summer. This means that we need to suit-up! Here are some options that we are considering on our hunt for swimsuits.

Red Rope Print Bandeau Bikini
this Red Rope Print Bandeau Bikini $55 at Topshop

Yellow Banana Print Bikini
this Yellow Banana Prink Bikini $52 at Topshop
which also comes in a cute turquoise color

Tie-Back Bandeau
this Tie-Back Bandeau $30 at Delias
which would go great with...

Foldover Hipster

For some reason the picture of this bikini would not appear on the post so if you click this link you will see why it had to be mentioned.
We are also looking for the perfect black bikini, so if you guys know of any good ones, ones that you trust to wear to the beach in front of millions of people, well a lot of people, then leave a comment below of where we can find one.
Thanks!

Oh, almost forgot... don't forget to enter our GIVEAWAY for a chance to win $25 gift card to VPV!
