It's raining. It's pouring. The old man is snoring...

There is no way to describe Savannah when it is raining. It has a captivating quality that takes over while you hear the rain pelt the soggy Savannah ground (adding to the intimidating yet exciting flash floods), and as you smell the combined fragrances of rain, marsh mud, old houses, and... believe it or not... oysters. This is just a little piece of Savannah that I relish and look forward to as "Big" John Wetherbee tells me my chances of rain.

Today started out chilly, so the rain itself was cold. The lack of snowfall in Savannah is a charming quality, but as we southerners enjoy basking in any and every part of our days, sitting at home by the fireplace was the perfect remedy for an indoor day.
Rainy days just aren't you're thing? No worries. Pour until it's full and you are good to go.
The perfect excuse to be lazy on a rainy day. Go back to bed, watch a movie or just enjoy the sound of raindrops on your rooftop. Trust me, you won't regret it.

But if you must go out into the rain, we recommend:

Been searching for another pair of Houndstooth rain boots... last pair got eaten by my dog who later redecorated the hand-woven Turkish kilim with it.
Molly waited for one of these for an incredibly long time. Time and money well spent. This umbrella keeps hair and makeup from getting wet while simultaneously allowing you to see where you are going.

Need a raincoat? Find a clear disposable poncho and I pinky promise it will match anything in your closet.
Now that you are outside...

Do it. I dare you.
