Things My Brother Says

My brother is the kind of guy that likes to wear a pair of old boots, watch football, and talk about his old Jeep Wagoneer. This is a note from him entitled, "Things that I'd like to see more of." It makes me smile when I read it, and brings inspiration to weirdly calm yet hectic days like today.

-Old pick up trucks. They look cool.
-People doing that butt-slide thing down a star's banister instead of walking down the steps.  Its fun and I   like to do it.
-Flip flops.  Also cool.
-Fans of old groups like Sam and Dave.  It's good music and makes you feel better.
-Aggressive behavior.  Passive-aggressiveness is for hippies and people who own Priuses. Prii? whatever.
-Toyota bashing.  I don't care how reliable of affordable they are, Toyota makes ugly cars. End of story.
-People playing catch.
-Dogs.
-The movie Caddyshack. Actually, I'm going to watch that now.
-References to the book Gone With the Wind.
-Frankly not giving any damns, my dear.
-floppy hats like Carl Spackler's in said golf movie.
-T-shirts that don't say anything.  We all know Led Zeppelin's 1971 US Tour was awesome.
-Jeans that are ripped because they are 6 years old and you ripped them replacing parts on a car. An American car.
-Flip down sunglasses.
-kites. Because, you know, it's a kite.
-squirrel fights that don't go up the tree where you can't see them anymore.
-Old people yelling at young people.
-Young people scared to death of an eighty year old man.
- Converse All- Stars.  Not worn ironically, because its cool, or because you are making a statement, but as a basketball shoe.
-People who drink black coffee.
-People really good at making paper airplanes.
-Sandwiches in ziploc bags.
-Bobby Cox.
-my sister's basketball games.
-People quoting Hemingway.  Dude was awesome.
-People quoting athletes. It's funny.
-old dogs that are content with being very lazy.
-young dogs who are not.
-football.
-space shuttle launches.
-people who are still in awe of things like space shuttle launches. Or the iPhone.
-Brett Favre.

He's such a goof. Have a lovely Thursday.

Breezy not so Easy

Is it Saturday yet? Because honestly, yesterday felt like Friday.

My mind is kind of a mess right now... my head is throbbing, I can't get my days straight, and I feel like there's a million things to do with little to no time.

I just keep thinking of the sitting, relaxing, and letting the cool
breeze take my worries away.

Vantage Point Vintage

Good vintage finds are hard to come by, so it's refreshing to find a place that shows you the best of the best. Vantage Point Vintage does just that, offering pieces that are high quality and from a range of different eras. VPV offers a little something for everyone, and we wanted to share our favorites with you. I've been in love with the 80's emerald dress since the first time I visited the site, and Anna and I are both huge fans of the nautical pea coat. There collection is constantly growing, be sure to check it out and tell us what your favorites are!

C'est la vie

I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning to sail my ship.
~Louisa May Alcott

When it is raining to the end of horizon, do not fret. It is a perfect time to take your sailboat out and learn the ropes.

♥ the little things

This week was, in a nut shell, splendid. It was sweetly short and filled with love and scattered moments of elation. Seldom did frustration or boredom infect the air. Of course there were moments that would have ruined the week if we did not have the little things (or the gloriously grand historical occasion).

My doggy's grizzly bear paws distracted me to the point of taking pictures of them.
Eating sweet juicy oranges in the sun... I may have an addiction to my vitamins.
We wish we could wear hats every day like the ones at the royal wedding.
Prince William and Princess Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lord and Lady, Will and Kate... call them what you will, the love of these two will live on forever. We can tell.
Sigh...
Princess Kate is living the epitome of our dreams. Such a magical moment in history that we are honored and giddy to have witnessed.

Rainy Days, Lazy Days

I love spending afternoons doing absolutely nothing. Yesterday I got to cozy up on the couch in my over-sized, obnoxiously yellow hoodie and waste the day away. Call me lazy (and I know I am..), but nothing made me happier then being able to listen to the rain, smell dinner cooking, and watch countless hours of YouTube videos. Afternoon well spent my friends. Afternoon well spent.

p.s. I couldn't find a bunch of comfy, cozy pictures for you guys as planned, so instead I will share with you the many YouTube videos I've been watching.

I love listening to her on rainy days.

Still the greatest wedding entrance ever.

Pasty white girls represent.

Inspired by yesterday's post... put a bird on it.
(thanks Jess! we do love it!)

Yesterday's theme song. Love it.

I'm blessed to have been able to sit on my couch without any worries. Be sure to keep those affected by the tornadoes in your thoughts and prayers.
